“I hope this is just the beginning” – Future Chelsea ace speaks on huge career moment

Future Chelsea star Estevao Willian has revealed he’s happy to be building such a great career and hopes his call up to the Brazil national team is just the beginning.

The Blues agreed a deal this summer with Palmeiras to sign the teenager for a fee which could rise to £51.4m and he will join up with his new team-mates in 2025.

Chelsea have increasingly tapped into the South American market under the new ownership as they look to sign the stars of tomorrow, and with Kendry Paez and Estevao they have signed arguably two of the biggest young talents in South American football right now.

Estevao hopes Brazil call-up is just the beginning

There are high hopes for Estevao in Brazil and despite being just 17 years of age many are saying he’s the best Brazilian born player since Neymar.

The forward already has ten goals and eight assists in 35 appearances for Palmeiras and his form has earned him a call up to the Brazil squad, where he could make his debut in either of the upcoming games against Ecuador or Paraguay.

There’s rightfully a lot of excitement surrounding the youngster and Chelsea fans will no doubt be keeping an eye on his performances not only for Palmeiras but also for Brazil.

Speaking whilst on international duty Estevao revealed that he’s happy to be building a great career and hopes it’s just the beginning.

“Football for me is an amusement park where I really feel happy,” he told reporters.

“I have to feel happy to play and enjoy it. I’m happy to be building such a great career. I hope this is just the beginning.”

At such a young age there’s still so much room for development and it’s impossible to tell how a player will turn out, but it’s clear that Estevao is a special talent and if he’s nurtured in the right way he can absolutely go to the very top of the game.
