Chelsea player says Maresca-ball is “a winger’s dream” and manager is “one of the best”

There has been some very big compliments given by a Chelsea player to his new head coach Enzo Maresca this week as we go into another international break.

During the international break we will often get a chance to hear from some of the players a bit more as they get approached by the media whilst out representing their countries.

Sources: Chelsea have internal striker discussions for January – Victor Osimhen return on the cards – Pre-deal not ruled out!

Noni Madueke got his first England senior call-up for this week under new interim manager Lee Carsley, and he has been speaking to the media whilst he settles into the England senior camp for the very first time this week.

Madueke has started this season on fire, and he has had nothing but praise for the new Italian head coach at the club, Enzo Maresca.

Maresca perfect for Madueke

Maresca’s style of play, or ‘Maresca-ball’ as it is referred to, uses wingers who want to always go 1v1 and beat their man. So for Madueke, this suits him perfectly.

As cited on X, Madueke said on Maresca-ball:

“It’s a winger’s dream. He wants you to stay as high as possible on the pitch and wide, threaten the back line, make runs and go 1v1. For me, that’s my bread and butter. It’s really good.

“I feel like Enzo, in terms of the tactic, he’s one of the best, for sure. He’s very good tactically. And, yeah, he simplifies the game for you. And as a player that’s what you want from a coach.”

Well, he’s certainly showing that he’s enjoying it so far!
