For some reason Chelsea’s team news is leaking early this season, and this week it’s a full 15 minutes.
Selections are always interesting after an international break, and this is no different. We knew that neither Malo Gusto not Reece James would be fit for this game, so it’s no surprise to see Axel Disasi starting at right back, as he has done in the Europa Conference League.
In midfield, it looks like Renato Veiga is using his versatility to fill in for Enzo Fernandez who hasn’t made the squad after his long trip back from South America in the international break. Moises Caicedo starts despite his exploits on the same continent, but we don’t expect him to play more than an hour. Cole Palmer recovers after a fortnight’s rest to provide the midfield’s attacking options.
Up front, the established attack of Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke supporting Nicolas Jackson continues.
