Tyrique George has sent a message to Enzo Maresca after scoring a brilliant hat-trick for the under-21 side against Brentford.

The Blues ran out 6-3 winners with forgotten man Deivid Washington also getting on the scoresheet, whilst Brentford’s Chanse Headman scored two own goals.

George is highly regarded in the Chelsea academy and is knocking on the door of the first team after going on the pre-season tour of America.

The 18-year-old made his first team debut in the second leg of the Europa Conference League play-off against Servette and it appears he’s a cut above under-21 football.

George took his hat-trick really with the third goal, a brilliant curling effort arguably the pick of the bunch and the youngster will be hoping for more first team opportunities.

Those may not be far away with Chelsea set to take on Barrow in the third round of the Carabao Cup later this month, whilst the talented youngster has also been named in the club’s squad for the league phase of the Europa Conference League.

Opportunities are likely to be few and far between given the wealth of options Chelsea have and perhaps a loan moan either in January or next summer is the next step in his development.
