“I am not” – Sky Sports pundit claims player is not good enough to play for Chelsea

One Sky Sports pundit has declared that he believes one player playing for Chelsea right now is just not good enough for the club.

The Blues played out a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace at the weekend at Stamford Bridge and it is a game that they will be disappointed not to win. Chelsea controlled the biggest part of the game and should have gone on to win after a good first half.

But Palace came out fighting in the second half and got a vital equalising goal and held on to get a well earned point away from home.

Enzo Fernandez was the Chelsea captain again in the absence of the injured Reece James. But Sky Sports pundit Jamie O-Hara was not impressed.

O’Hara says Fernandez just isn’t good enough for Chelsea, and Romeo Lavia is a better player.

Speaking on Sky Sports (01/09/2024 at 15:45) after Chelsea’s London derby with Palace, the former Tottenham Hotspur star said: “I am not having Enzo Fernandez. I am not having him. I don’t think he is good enough.

“They paid a lot of money for him, £100 million, they have made him the captain of the football club. I don’t think he deserves to play in midfield. Lavia is a better player.”

I also think Lavia is better than Fernandez, but I don’t think Fernandez is a bad player at all and I do rate him. I certainly don’t agree that he isn’t good enough for Chelsea. But we do really need to start seeing a bit more from him now though, especially after the investment made in him by Chelsea.

  1. Totally agree. Enzo Looks a bit overweight. Didn’t impress last year eigther. And recall when he didnt play the time he was injured and sick, Caicedo played his best soccer. That was commented on as well. Because he talks the same lingo as the manager, is no reason to play him. Also the racial incident left a bad impression, and if he couldn’t see the wrong in that, he is no good example for anyone.
