Top journalist provides exciting update on Chelsea’s latest star

Jadon Sancho will train with his Chelsea team-mates at Cobham for the first time on Tuesday according to Mail Sport journalist Kieran Gill.

The winger was a deadline day arrival from Manchester United with the Blues agreeing a loan deal with an obligation to buy for around £25m as long a they don’t finish in the bottom six of the Premier League.

The 24-year-old was the third high profile attacking signing to arrive at Stamford Bridge this summer after Joao Felix and Pedro Neto, with the England international providing yet another quality option for Enzo Maresca.

Sancho to train with Chelsea on Tuesday

In positive news Gill has reported that Sancho will train with his Chelsea team-mates for the first time on Tuesday.

He took to X.com and said:

“Told Jadon Sancho is training with Chelsea team-mates today at Cobham. Enzo Maresca will work with Sancho and other non-internationals over break. Players given yesterday off for recovery after Crystal Palace game. Potential debut at Bournemouth on September 14.”

Quite where Sancho fits in at Chelsea given all the options the club have in the final third remains to be seen, but on the face of it the finances of the deal appear favourable.

Whilst the Blues are believed to be covering the majority of his reported £250,000 per week wages this season, Sancho has agreed to take a pay cut in order fit into the club’s wage structure.

Considering United paid over £70m for Sancho in 2021, it means for £25m Chelsea could have a bargain on their hands providing they can help him rediscover his best form.

Sancho was presented to the Chelsea fans on Sunday before the game against Crystal Palace, but fans will have to wait until the game against Bournemouth after the international break to get their first potential sight of him in action.

He struggled to find his best form at United with the move simply not working out, but if Chelsea can provide Sancho with an environment to thrive in and help him rediscover his Borussia Dortmund form they will have a serious player on their hands.
