The dreaded ‘continue rehabilitation’ is back at Chelsea as key player heads back to Cobham

I think many of us are absolutely sick to death of hearing those dreaded words ‘continue rehabilitation’ at Chelsea after a season of reading that every single week.

I also think it’s been refreshing to be able to hear who has been injured before games and who is unavailable and it’s also taken pressure off the manager in pre-match press conferences. Chelsea put out an injury update before each press conference now so we can see who will not be playing in the next game.

The frustrating thing is that these updates do not provide any scale of how long said player might be out for, but I guess I can understand why the club do not want to put those details out and also, injury return dates can be so sporadic as there is often setbacks.

Anyway, the next set of injury updates before the Bournemouth game are going to be waited on with anticipation, and that is because we will all be hoping that Cole Palmer will not be on it.

Palmer returns from England duty

The key Chelsea player has now returned back to Cobham from England international duty after only arriving there earlier this week.

As you can see above, reporter Kieran Gill says:

‘Palmer returning to Chelsea to continue “rehabilitation for ongoing issue” following assessment by England staff. He previously complained of a hamstring problem after Servette game at Stamford Bridge but club not yet specified issue.’

Here we go again then!
