Chelsea beat Brighton 4-2 on Saturday afternoon to continue their impressive form of late in the league and in the League Cup too.

They have now scored 12 goals in their last 3 matches beating West Ham 3-0, Barrow 5-0, and now Brighton 4-2 – this is truly impressive stuff.

Sources: The one key element Chelsea have changed in recruitment specifics that has benefited them massively.

Brighton are certainly no pushovers and many of us Chelsea fans feared for this one despite the latest good form and clear improvements under Enzo Maresca. Chelsea’s record against Brighton in very recent seasons has been good though, and that continue yesterday.

The Blues scored 4 first half goals to finish Brighton off, or I should say Cole Palmer scored 4 first half goals to finish Brighton off.

But there was some decent performances elsewhere for Chelsea too and it wasn’t ALL just Palmer, even though he is clearly the club talisman right now.

Sancho turned up

Sancho starting well at Chelsea

Winger Jadon Sancho has had a good start to his Chelsea career, and that continued yesterday as he made an impact against Brighton as well and was even unlucky not to grab his first Blues goal.

But it was one surprising stat that stood out to me, one stat that you would not expect Sancho to be at the top of the charts for.

But as cited by Blue Footy on X, Jadon Sancho won more duels (8) than any other player in the game yesterday.

That is a high amount of duels to win in a game even for a defender, let alone a winger. Sancho just showing how hard working he can be too.
