(Video): Enzo Maresca demands player calms down three times in intense possession game

Robert Sanchez in possession drills.

We’ve seen interviews with a number of Chelsea players now where they’ve talked about Enzo Maresca, and there’s one thing they all mention – his intensity and attention to detail in training.

You only need to see a few minutes of the club’s training video from behind the scenes to understand what they mean. The manager is right in the thick of things in the possession drills, talking constantly and coaching each player as the ball arrives at their feet.

It was notable that the moment the ball reached Robert Sanchez, the coach shouted “calma, calma, calma.” That makes it pretty obvious what he wants from his goalkeeper on the ball.
