Noni Madueke had a good preseason and has carried that form into the competitive games as Chelsea’s 2024-2025 season has got underway.
It’s really been notable that he’s defending a lot more diligently than we have seen before. We don’t want to give Enzo Maresca exclusive credit for that, as there was progress under Mauricio Pochettino too. It seems all part of growing up and moving from a smaller league to a bigger league for Madueke.
He laughed about it in an interview with 5Live this morning. “I didn’t like doing it then, but I like doing it now” he explained.
