It could spark a few changes at the club in the coming weeks, and it will be changes that the club have not expected to be arriving.

It has all happened since former Blues manager Thomas Tuchel, who won the Champions League at the club, was announced as the official new England manager a couple of weeks back.

We then started hearing rumours suggesting that Tuchel was after a couple of the Chelsea staff members who he had worked with before to join him as well as another former Chelsea staff member, Anthony Barry, at England as they aim to win a World Cup together.

One staff member who has already left Chelsea is Head of Performance Analysis, James Melbourne He officially left the club just last week. But another could go now too.

Hilario officially approached

Hilario could be off

According to The Daily Mail’s Kieran Gill, who also reported the Melbourne news above last night on X, Chelsea have now had contact from England for goalkeeping coach Hilário.

Tuchel wants the 49-year-old Portuguese coach to join his backroom staff in the national team setup for England.

Hilario has been at Chelsea since 2006 when he was a player there until 2014. He then transition into coaching and became a goalkeeper coach at the club. So he has a strong affiliation and love for the club.

There is no confirmation that he is definitely leaving yet, but I assume it will be fully up to him so he will have a big decision to make.

With such a strong love for Chelsea after being here for so long, you do wonder if he will take the role or not. But perhaps the time is right for another step in his career.
