One pundit has been so amazed at how well Chelsea have started the season so far that he has changed his stance on what he thinks they will achieve now.

Many pundits completely wrote Chelsea off for a top four finish at the start of the season and I have to say, so did I. I’m not ready to change my stance yet because 7 league games is too early to make any judgements either way. I will reflect again when appropriate and when I have seen some more games over a sustained period. I think that is only fair either way.

But some pundits are changing their stance already, and they think Chelsea could now finish in the top four this season.

Don Hutchinson changes his mind

ESPN pundit Don Hutchinson is the latest to change his stance on Chelsea this season.

Don Hutchison now rates Chelsea as favourites to end up in the top four after an impressive start to the season, when he previously put Newcastle in that spot.

When asked what percentage chance Chelsea have of finishing in the top four this season, Hutchinson told ESPN: “They’ve come out of nowhere because I had Newcastle fourth. I would probably make Chelsea favourites among the teams that are trying to get there. Man United have got zero chance…

“Let me go 40% Chelsea. 30% Aston Villa. The other two can split 15% each, Newcastle and Tottenham.”

Chelsea have a very tough run of games coming up, let’s see where they are after that!
