Enzo Maresca explains why he celebrated so much when one Chelsea player scored

Enzo Maresca celebrates Dewsbury-Hall's goal

New Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca cuts a very calm figure on the sidelines most of the time, but he can also get animated when he needs to.

I actually think that so far he has a good balance of being calm and showing some emotions on the sidelines, and there is a fine balance involved.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea now watching NEW Premier League striker name THIS season!!

Of course we have seen him celebrating goals, and that’s always natural for managers and players alike. But in Chelsea’s 4-2 win over Gent last night in the Conference League, we saw Maresca celebrate one goal just a little bit harder than he celebrated the others, and there is a reason for that.

Maresca bought Dewsbury-Hall in with him

Maresca celebrates Dewsbury-Hall’s goal

Soon after Maresca was confirmed as the new Chelsea boss this summer, his player from Leicester City then arrived at Chelsea too.

And the midfielder grabbed his first goal for the club last night, and Maresca was over the moon!

Dewsbury-Hall scored our fourth goal which Maresca celebrated joyously on the touchline:

‘I know Kiernan very well from last year. I completely understand how difficult it is for Kiernan at this moment. I know when you are the main player and then move to a big club it’s not easy because you’re not the main player, and you’re on the bench or not in the squad.

‘Sometimes you struggle a bit at the beginning, but he has to understand the reason he is here is because we want him, so I was very happy for him. The celebration was because I know he needed that.’
