“Huge reputation” – Former Chelsea player names Blues man as signing of the summer

One former Chelsea player has named a current Blues man as the signing of the summer in his latest comments made this week.

Chelsea made some big signings in the summer, many of which came as a bit of a surprise. Usually we are used to dragged out transfer sagas associated with Chelsea along with a lot of daily media coverage.

BIG EXCLUSIVE!! Chelsea exploring ambitious move to sign Manchester City centre back as well as watching TWO Benfica defenders!!

Some people absolutely love the drama of this, but others hate it. We are used to getting the daily updates on big deals from the transfer reporters such as Fabrizio Romano, and we all end up getting fully invested in these stories.

This is why the signing of Pedro Neto by Chelsea came as a complete surprise, because it absolutely came out of nowhere, no links, no rumours, and then just boom, Neto was a Chelsea player! It was great!

Former Chelsea defender Glen Johnson names Neto as the best signing of the summer, and he’s not the only one.

Johnson said:

“He’s not looked the best so far, but I do believe that Pedro Neto was the best signing of the summer. I’m looking forward to seeing him get into top gear.

“He has a huge reputation and was signed for a lot of money. We’ve already seen what he’s capable of doing when he was at Wolves, but now we need to wait and see if he can do it for a top team.

“Neto’s a fantastic player and when he finds his form and gets some regular gametime, then of course he could occupy that position because there was a reason why Chelsea bought him for a lot of money,” he said. “[Jadon] Sancho is a player that needs to be happy because nobody can question his ability, so it’s good to watch him bouncing back.

“He needs to be more consistent, but it’s a fantastic problem for Chelsea to have because having those two happy, in form and playing for the same spot means that the club is doing something right.”
