John Obi Mikel has admitted he can’t understand how Jadon Sancho couldn’t perform at Manchester United when you see how he’s playing for Chelsea.
Sancho arrived at Chelsea on deadline day on an initial loan deal from United, which will become permanent for around £25m as long as the Blues don’t finish in the bottom six of the Premier League.
The 24-year-old has made a positive impact already and looks to have nailed down the left wing spot in Enzo Maresca’s starting line-up.

Sancho made an instant impact on his debut against Bournemouth when he came on as a half time substitute and put in a man of the match performance which included setting up Christopher Nkunku for the winner.
The England international followed that performance up with impressive showings against West Ham and Brighton as he assisted in both games to take his tally to three assists in three games.
The move to Stamford Bridge is a fresh start for Sancho and an opportunity to get his career back on track after a difficult spell at Old Trafford and early evidence suggests he’s absolutely making the most of it.
Former Chelsea star Mikel had revealed he can’t understand how Sancho didn’t succeed at United when you see his performances for the Blues.
“Jadon Sancho again, thanks to Erik Ten Hag,” he told his Obi One Podcast.
“I can’t understand how he couldn’t perform at Manchester United when you watch him play now at Chelsea, I don’t understand why he couldn’t give him freedom.”
Sancho has certainly had a better start than many would have expected and Chelsea will be hoping that form continues throughout the season.
If the Blues can provide an environment in which Sancho can thrive and help him rediscover the form he showed at Borussia Dortmund, not only have they got a top player on their hands but also an absolute bargain.
