Nicolas Jackson continued his good start to the season as he achieved a huge milestone in his career by scoring his first goal for Senegal.

The 23-year-old has four goals and three assists in the first seven league games of the season for the Blues and is once again Chelsea’s first choice striker despite the form of Christopher Nkunku.

A lot was made of Chelsea’s failure to sign a striker in the summer, but Jackson’s form is very much showing that may not have been a bad thing.

Whilst the former Villarreal man is still raw in terms of his finishing there are signs that’s improved, whilst his all round game is very good as demonstrated last season and at the start of this one.

Jackson ticked off a major milestone in his career on Friday evening as he scored his first goal for Senegal in their 4-0 win over Malawi in an African Cup of Nations qualifier.

The Senegal international picked the ball up in the box, got the better of two defenders and fired a shot into the back of the net, although it’s arguable the keeper should have done better.

The Blues will be hoping that Jackson can take his goalscoring form back to Chelsea as they face a tough trip to Anfield on October 20th.
