“We want to continue with that” – Pedro Neto details exactly what Chelsea’s mentality is this season

Pedro Neto has been speaking about Chelsea’s mentality this season and in a recent interview he revealed exactly what that is.

Neto arrived at Chelsea this summer from Wolves and was the club’s most expensive summer recruitment, costing an initial £51.4m.

The 24-year-old has yet to establish himself as a regular in the side and has only started two Premier League games this season, and was substituted at half time in one of those.

The majority of Neto’s minutes have come in the cup competitions and he’s scored twice for the Blues this season.

The Portugal international is certainly knocking on the door of the starting line-up following his performance at Anfield, and he followed that up by providing an assist for Mykhailo Mudryk’s goal against Panathinaikos on Thursday.

The Blues will be desperate to return to winning ways against Newcastle on Sunday, before further tough league games against Manchester United and Arsenal.

In the build-up to the Newcastle game Neto has been speaking about Chelsea’s mentality and revealed exactly what it is.

“Our group is getting better every day, and what we did (at Anfield) showed our character, our  personality, our hard-work mentality and we want to continue with that,” he told Chelsea’s official app.

“We went there with the personality we showed in other games, and that we will continue to show in every game.

“It’s what the people in the coaching staff have said to us, this is our mentality and we have to continue working hard if we want to be on the top.”

It’s certainly a good mentality to have and you can see from the Liverpool performance how the mentality at the club has already started to shift from last season.

If the Blues are to achieve their goals this season they will need to ensure they carry that mentality throughout the entirety of the campaign.
