£400m reasons why Chelsea “should” dominate Conference League

Chelsea started their Conference League campaign with a bang – a 4-2 win over Gent at Stamford Bridge.

There is basically zero danger at this stage of the competition given some of the opposition. It’s a stroll to the knockouts – and even then it shouldn’t be too taxing.

On TNT Sports they pointed out the value of the Blues’ squad – pretty much the same as every other team in the competition put together. “They SHOULD dominate this competition,” Don Hutchinson pointed out.

Well they made a good start on that tonight.

Of course, Chelsea are playing their B team in this competition, so the imbalance isn’t quite as big as it sounds. But in the latter stages we expect the big guns wheeled out too. But until then, the B team get to feast across the continent for a few months.
