There has been some very big news that’s developed very fast this week and has now been officially confirmed over the course of today.
This story is very Chelsea connected, and I have seen many Chelsea fans become very excited by it, as I am myself being a Blues fan as well.

I am of course talking about the official appointment of Thomas Tuchel as the new England manager today, which was confirmed late morning.
Some people have greeted this appointment with anger and negativity, with The Daily Mail even referring to it as a ‘dark day’ for English football which quite frankly, is just embarrassing and ridiculous.
For the non-Chelsea fans, maybe there will be some reservations, or maybe from some of those who believe that a national team manager must be of the same nationality of the country he is managing. Tuchel of course, is German.
However, there IS excitement from Chelsea fans who are also England fans, who know exactly what Tuchel is all about and can see him doing big things for England, with two current Chelsea players set to benefit from his arrival.
Tuchel’s first words
These words are exciting, and not just for Tuchel. It’s great to see Tuchel back in front of the camera and in the public eye again. What a character.

As you can see, the former Blues boss admits that he is nervous but says he is here to win trophies and says he wants to add another star on their shirts, alluding to winning the World Cup.
England have only ever won one major trophy in their entire existence, and that came back in 1966. The nation that invented the sport needs to win more and become more dominant, and Tuchel can certainly be the guy to bring that in for us.
