Chelsea win over Arsenal a great bet to start Rosenior era with a bang

January has arrived, a miserable month for much of the world, already looking forward to warmer temperatures and better weather to come.

Gambling is always a good way to entertain yourself in these dark months, in whatever form you like. The Sun Papers casino reviews show there are some great places out there to have a flutter on things like slots or roulette, but betting on the football is another fun option. That’s especially true at this time of year when there are so many games to be played.

Chelsea are always a great team to bet on because nobody is quite sure at any given moment if they’re good or not. Recent form has seen them swing between an unbeaten run and a run of games without a win. If you have the sense of what mood the team is in and which direction they’re going, you could make good money from betting for (or against) them.

The decline and fall of Enzo Maresca was a good example. After a winning run everything was pointing in the right direction, but people who were following the situation closely would have been able to see that the breadcrumb trail was there that things weren’t all right at the club.

Someone following that situation could have bet against the Blues through their recent run of games without a win and made good money. That chance is gone now – so what can we expected now? Liam Rosenior has been appointed, and there’s a lot of doubt about whether he will be able to succeed in a role which has chewed through so many managers in recent years.

Up first he has a bit of a soft ball – an FA Cup third round game against Charlton. But Chelsea will be heavy favourites to win that, even with a rotated team.

A more interesting prospect might be backing the Blues to get a win against Arsenal in the EFL Cup semi next midweek. Their odds should be pretty healthy given Arsenal’s form.

Why do we think they can do it? Well it will be Rosenior’s first home game, and the crowd will really be behind him as they welcome the new man to Stamford Bridge.

The fact that the new boss can rotate his team for Saturday’s game means that we go into that one at full strength too. Of course the Gunners are a formidable team – but that just improves the odds on a Chelsea win.
