Just as things looked like they were starting to really click under new manager Liam Rosenior, Chelsea have been hit with a couple of bad results which have seriously hurt the Blues in their race for the top 5, and have created doubts about the new man.
For Chelsea fans who like a bet, this has seriously lengthened the Blues’ odds of making the Champions League places, and the offers on BestBettingBonuses.co.uk give you an even more exciting chance of earning big, if you think they’re going to turn this wobble around and power back to the top.
Things couldn’t have gone better to start with. After taking over in early January, Rosenior oversaw league wins over Brentford, Crystal Palace, Wolves and West Ham, as well as wins in the cups over Charlton, Pafos and Napoli. His only defeats in his first month in charge came against Arsenal in the EFL Cup.
But consecutive draws after being in a winning position, against Leeds and against Burnley, both at home, have seriously stung us. Manchester United and Liverpool have kept winning, and things are starting to look incredibly tense at the top of the table.
Aston Villa are wobbling too – but they’ve got the cushion of points to rely on. It’s honestly hard to predict who makes it over the finishing line, but what is certain is that Chelsea will have a major say. They face top five rivals Villa, Liverpool and Man U in a really tough run in which also contains games against Arsenal, Man City, Newcastle, Everton and Spurs. Those are nasty fixtures, but the number of them against teams around us mean that our fate is still in our hands.
Personally, we’re still believing what we saw in those first weeks of Rosenior. He’s got the players engaged, he’s lifted the mood at the club, and he just needs the ball to go into the net in a game like Saturday’s draw. Let’s get things in perspective, he’s still unbeaten in the league. But there’s no denying, that list of games coming up would be enough to make anyone sweat.
Last season we rocketed up the table with a late run – surely we can’t do that for a second year in a row? The likes of Cole Palmer, Reece James and Moises Caicedo all need to show their world class abilities on the biggest stages if we want to catch Villa and keep Man U and Liverpool at bay.
