Chelsea were dreadful again at Stamford Bridge today, and four of their sporting directors were there to see it.

Chelsea are being crushed 3-0 at home by a rotated Nottingham Forest team.

It’s another new low in a season that has had plenty of them.

The owners aren’t there to see it, which is a shame. The only enjoyable thing about these defeats is getting to see the look on Todd Boehly or Behdad Eghbali’s face as they watch their billions and their credibility going up in smoke.

Sporting directors at Stamford Bridge to watch nightmare continue

But four people who are there to see it are the sporting directors – four of the five we employ, that is. Joe Shields, Paul Winstanley, Laurence Stewart and Sam Jewell were all at Stamford Bridge to watch the embarrassing culmination of their last few years work.

You can see the image featured above – maybe you want to print it out and put it on your dartboard.

Everything we’ve heard from sources close to the club insists that none of these guys see their jobs under threat. That could yet change if we keep losing, but we’re not getting our hopes up.

In other news…

Jamie Carragher, as so often, said it best. He pointed to one moment in the game which summed up Chelsea’s dreadful season.

The one piece of good news in this game was Levi Colwill coming on for his first minutes of the season as a half time change.
