Paul Merson has spent most of this season quite accurately skewering a very poor Chelsea team, and today was no different. In this middle of an 11 minutes Sky Sports video mainly involving him breaking down just why we were so bad, he did note that he’s a fan of our striker Nicolas Jackson.
“I do like him,” he said, but this was all in the context of him saying that Jackson should have a more experienced striker in the squad to take the pressure off him while he develops. It’s our lack of a Drogba or Costa, he says, that’s hurting us.
Jackson went on to score that night – maybe Merse was on to something after all.
