Jamie Carragher is on Monday Night Football tonight and he had some interesting takes on Mauricio Pochettino’s situation as manager.
He thinks that Todd Boehly and the other owners just can’t afford to sack their manager, no matter how badly it does. The fact they sacked two coaches last season means they’d look even more clownish than they already do if they boot a third.
“Chelsea fans would really turn on them” he said – quite correctly. Plenty of fans are already turning on them, and this would only accelerate matters.
Like Carragher, we agree that they simply can’t afford to sack a coach right now, and Pochettino will get an exceptional amount of leeway.

“Stirring the pot punditry.†Pointless blather as is so often the case with Carragher. This ownership has no interest in sacking Poch. Stop wasting our time.
