The focus of a lot of Chelsea fans’ attention this week has been on loan midfielder Andrey Santos.
After a few weeks sitting on the bench, the Brazilian was left out of Nottingham Forest’s squad entirely at the weekend, ringing alarm bells. He’s supposed to be playing every week and gaining experience, not kicking his heels.
Forest coach Steve Cooper addressed those concerns in his presser today, quite reasonably saying that circumstances have conspired against Santos making a Premier League debut yet this season.
You can’t blame Cooper for doing what’s right for his team, but you also can’t blame Chelsea fans for being frustrated at a poorly chosen loan.
You can see the Forest manager speaking in the clip embedded here:

Can we recall the loan and send him to Strasbourg?
