Conor Gallagher has gone from unwanted and for sale to Chelsea captain and a starter every week for Mauricio Pochettino.
He’s also an academy product and a player who speaks well in front of the camera – so Chelsea TV love to get him whenever they can. His interview from before the international break is as sweet as you’d expect.
One great story he tells is about going to his first captain’s meeting before a game ahead of the Wimbledon match, and realising the opposing manager had been his assistant when he was on loan at Charlton. Both must have felt they’ve come a long way since then.
