On loan Chelsea striker is having issues, but there are reasons why

In a report via Sport Witness, Union Berlin’s sporting director Oliver Runhert has explained that private issues have been affecting on loan Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana’s performances since joining.

Union Berlin seemed to be an ideal club for Fofana’s development, with the striker even getting the chance to play Champions League Football. However, the striker has struggled to hit the ground running and nail down a starting spot in Union’s team.

Runhert believes that problems behind the scenes in his private life are a reason as to why he is struggling, stating: “Changing the results is not that easy for a young player, he also had private problems at times, a little something came together. He also lacks a bit of goal to give him self confidence”

Fofana is just one of the many young talented players that the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital have purchased since taking over the club. The Ivory Coast international possesses really good pace and dribbling, and is versatile, having played both up front and on the wing for Molde in Norway.

Whatever is going on in his life, we hope that it gets better, as Chelsea need him to perform for financial or squad planning purposes for the future.
