The Simon Phillips podcast today started with some interesting coverage of the Ian Maatsen situation with Chelsea Dodgers from Twitter.
The guest said that he was sure that the left back would be “on his way” in January, having seen how little playing time he was going to get. Chelsea have already showed by accepting a £31.5m offer from Burnley in the summer that they’re willing to sell, and it was only Maatsen’s reluctance to go back there that killed the deal.
Phillips agreed that he’d be leaving in January if a suitable offer came in, and as it stands that looks fairly likely.
