Jamie Carragher on Monday Night Football tonight was very impressed by some of Chelsea’s tactical decisions on Saturday.
He loved the way that Mauricio Pochettino had used a box midfield to swamp Arsenal in midfield. Without a striker on the pitch, they Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher as a roving pressing pair ahead of Enzo and Moises Caicedo.
The big remaining question is whether the same system, without a full time striker, can be used against even teams who are determined to defend deep, or whether Pochettino will reserve it for when we take on teams willing to attack us?
