Brazilian sources report Chelsea agree €26m deal for latest wonderkid

Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign 18 year old Corinthians player Gabriel Moscardo, sources in Brazil are reporting.

The rumours have been around since the summer, with numerous European clubs mentioned, but it seems the Blues have won the race.

The figure of €26m is being mentioned, and the midfielder will follow in the footsteps of countrymen Deivid Washington, Andrey Santos and Angelo Gabriel, who all arrived at Stamford Bridge in the last 12 months after generating hype in their home nation.

It makes Moscardo the biggest sale in the history of the Brazilian club, with the figure likely a mix of straight cash up front followed by incentives and bonuses based on his future performances and success in the first team.

It looks to be another coup for Joe Shields, who seems to head up the teenage South American signing department. It will be a long time before we know if it’s a successful move in terms of improving the first team, but the youngster is certainly in high demand.

  1. They buying but their not playing them . Hope the manager will bring back Santos and Washington to play them so that they get the system of the coach . Please don’t waste the talent of those aspiring and quality young footballers .I rate Santos than Gallagher . Washington should have been use much .
