Nobody took more criticism last week than Thiago Silva, the Chelsea captain who made a big mistake and allowed Newcastle to score the goal that really broke our resistance.
He needed to bounce back yesterday, and he did so in style. His defending was vital as we went down to ten men in the second half, and it was summed up perfectly by a brilliant block he made in extra time.
The cut back was laid on perfectly for Brighton to sweep home, but Silva had read it perfectly. Just what the doctor ordered.
