Last week saw some pretty direct criticism from Mauricio Pochettino of his players – he pointed to some who were not being picked and weren’t happy about it, and challenged them to earn their minutes in training and with good cameos.
Well Noni Madueke certainly did that last night. Pochettino said in the presser after the game that the winger had been “upset” with him, but dealt with it in the best possible way, by coming on as a sub and providing his team with the spark to win the game.
“He did what we needed,” the coach explained. Let’s see if he now rewards the winger with more minutes.f
