We’ve been immensely frustrated by some of Nicolas Jackson this season, we won’t deny it. But there’s also been some brilliant flashes, and as well as his impressive work rate, he’s shown great ability to make chances for others.
His season highlights of his chance creation show how his strength and hard work have set up hatfuls of goalscoring chances for others. If he keeps it up, and cleans up his finishing a little, the doubts will soon fade away.

Couldn’t agree more about Jackson. If he can clean up his finishing he’s got a chance to be a world class striker. He’s got that unique blend of speed, power, balance and an uncanny ability to the right runs at the right time that we’ve not seen since Drogba. Alongside a healthy Nkunku and Cole Palmer we could have a very dangerous attack indeed.
While I’m not against pursuing another striker in the hopes of replacing Broja with someone more dangerous and productive, I don’t think it’s worth it if it means selling Gallagher. Jackson still has loads of upside potential, as do Palmer, Mudryk, Madueke, and Nkunku. We could do far worse than shopping for an upgrade at keeper but otherwise standing pat this transfer window and watching the group further develop in 2024.
