Chelsea’s manager Jose Mourinho has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association.
Following the match against Aston Villa at Villa Park last weekend, Jose Mourinho was sent to the stands by the referee Chris Foy after an explosive clash.
Chelsea were 1-0 down when Willian was sent off following two yellow cards, before Ramires saw red on a dreadful tackle on Karim El Ahmadi which prompted Jose to react with frustration.
Chelsea’s manager intended to walk onto the pitch at the 92th minute of the game to try and talk to the referee Chris Foy.
Jose Mourinho then tried a second time in the dressing room but wasn’t able to because Chris refused.
Speaking on Radio 5 he said,
“I really don’t know why I was sent off. I asked but the referee refused to speak to me. I tried to speak on the pitch and in the dressing rooms.”
According to the FA, the reaction of Jose Mourinho entering the field of play amounted to improper conduct.
Mourinho is likely to face a fine of around £10,000 rather than a touchline ban and the manager has until 18:00 on Monday 24, March to respond to the charges imposed by the FA.
