17 year old Michael Golding made his Chelsea debut as a sub last night, and fans noticed an incredibly funny and charming moment.
As he prepared to come on, the fourth official held his hand out to stop the youngster dashing on before his opposite number had come off. Golding thought he was being offered a handshake, and so reciprocated.
The initial video shared online showed him doing it once – but in fact this extended edition shows it happen twice.
It’s going to be on a lot of end of year compilations that’s for sure.
You can see the sweet moment in the clip embedded here, with footage from BBC Sport:

This young man has a good future for Chelsea FC . It depends now to the manager . Other player that I want to see to play for Chelsea is Santos . Hope they won’t send him on loan . This manager should keep him and play Santos . I believe in Santos skill only the manager is the problem . If Santos play with regular minutes like Golding both will gain experience and boost their confidence playing for Chelsea and showcase their skills . My hope they keep this young players to play for Chelsea FC instead of sending out loan . The manager should have a confidence to play this two player for first team . They’re both ready to play for first team . The manager should not waste their talents and keep this both for Chelsea FC team to play.
Lovely comical moment for a young player I even think it made the officials day to keep boy at chelsea
