(Video): “He can’t cross the ball” – ESPN pundits slams Chelsea signings including £88m winger

ESPN spent a full 25 minutes taking Chelsea apart on their post-match show last night. They went through the whole mess, although as usual the expensive players signed over the last 18 months got the most flak.

Craig Burley couldn’t believe we spent £88m on Mykhailo Mudryk given “he can’t cross the ball”.

Mudryk wasn’t the only one – Moises Caicedo also got slammed, as did Cole Palmer after a wasteful performance.

We wish we could say Burley is wrong, but it’s hard to disagree with his criticisms here.

  1. Regarding Mudryk, Burley is full of poop. That kid is great if we had a front line able to process crosses. We have massive problems in the middle that’s causing wing penetration instead of crossing. That’s also happening with the other wing as well. Why in the hell don’t we take the Grealish approach. Stay on the line and get the ball into the middle with occasional attempts to penetrate. Everyone is on Mudryk but his speed and ability to get the ball into the middle is overlooked. We cannot let the Sterling actions of taking the ball to the middle from the wing with little success while overlooking what Mudryk and our other side wings can accomplish. The ineptitude of our front also caused Enzo to move further up the pitch which was also criticized.
