(Video): Player is “exactly what Chelsea need” to solve their problem position claims former player

Jason Cundy and Jamie O’Hara were on TalkSport speaking about the big story of the weekend – the return of Ivan Toney to Premier League action after a long betting ban.

Their big debate is about whether Toney owes Brentford anything, and more broadly about whether loyalty in football does (or should) exist.

One thing they weren’t willing to debate is whether Toney is good enough. Cundy is convinced – not only is he good, he’s “exactly what Chelsea need.”

He’s big, physical, tough, Premier League experienced and (presumably) incredibly driven and hungry to make up for lost time. We’re pretty sure he would do well – the question is more over how much money Brentford would make you pay for him.

  1. O’Hara is an absolute idiot. He has no idea of the lengths Brentford has gone to help Ivan Toney. Yes, he is their biggest asset but they have gone over and above to ensure he’s remained part of the squad whilst he’s been out. Team mates have come in on their days off to train with him to ensure he’s in the best condition he can be when he return. Toney himself has said he owes the do much for all they have done and he will stay with the club and possibly sign a one year extension to protect his value. Loyalty works both was by O’ hard has no moral compass do wouldn’t understand. As for the caller ‘Jordan’ he obviously has no idea if the situation with Toney. Just because he’s not played this season doesn’t mean clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea can get him on the cheap, it doesn’t work like that. He’s a top strike who is different to anyone England has at the moment and will score a hatful of goals for whoever he plays for.
