Mauricio Pochettino was asked yesterday in his press conference after the game whether Mykhailo Mudryk had an injury. The winger was taken off at half time, but Pochettino explained that it was because the winger was on a yellow card, and had almost got a second yellow right at the end of the first period.
We’re sure this is true, but there’s also a degree to which Pochettino is covering for his player. We all saw him lose his temper with the winger after some brainless runs, and this half time change was as much about frustration with his play as it was about protecting him from a second yellow.
