“99%” – Pochettino has made massive lineup decision, Chelsea fans finally get to see his Petrovic plans

A week ago, Mauricio Pochettino confirmed that Robert Sanchez, who had been his first choice goalkeeper before he got injured, was fit again.

That meant that Saturday evening’s game against Man City was supposed to reveal whether Sanchez would come back in as number one, or whether the impressive Djordje Petrovic would keep his place.

In the end, we never got to find out – Sanchez had a personal problem which means he missed the game.

That has rolled the question on to this week, and Pochettino was asked today whether he had picked his goalkeeper already. He confirmed that he had, and in fact was almost certain on his starting team, although he wasn’t going to reveal that to his group anytime soon.

“Yes [I have decided who plays in goal]. 99%, the team is in my head. But I haven’t told the players. I prefer [to tell them] tomorrow, or maybe even after.

To us, it looks unlikely that Pochettino drops Petrovic now. He’s done well and looked good. Sanchez is not significantly better, so why rock the boat and disrupt things now, just before a crucial game?
