Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has identified Chelsea’s dangerman ahead of their clash with PSG in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Frenchman, who has been involved in a number of spats with Jose Mourinho this season, has claimed Eden Hazard is the man that PSG need to stop in order to progress int he competition.
Chelsea recently beat Wenger’s Arsenal side 6-0, where Hazard scored a penalty, and he has admired Chelsea’s tricky winger in quotes published recently:
“Hazard is the big danger man for me. He is very efficient because he can score, he can assist and because he can get his team out of pressure situations by unlocking defences.”
Wenger, whose Arsenal side fell at the round of 16 stage in this season’s Champions League against Bayern Munich, also said that Samuel Eto’o would be a big miss were he to remain injured for Wednesday night’s clash.
In a surprisingly complimentary mood of his London rivals, despite recent arguments via the press with manager Jose Mourinho, Wenger also went on to praise the balance in Chelsea’s side:
“Chelsea have a lot of experience with some of their players having won the Champions League. Guys like Terry, Cech or Eto’o … there is a lot of experience there (but) Hazard is the big danger for me.”
In what most Chelsea fans will agree has been one of the bright sparks about their sides season, Wenger finally praised Hazard’s attacking partners in Willian, Schurrle and Oscar claiming they were all “dangerous and very fast”.
Paris Saint-Germain vs Chelsea kicks off at 19:45 GMT on Wednesday evening before the return leg at Stamford Bridge next Tuesday; will we see Hazard put in a performance that lives up to rival managers hype?
