Chelsea star Eden Hazard is to return to action following injury sooner than first expected, according to Chelsea assistant manager Steve Holland.
Speaking after Chelsea’s 0-1 win over Swansea on Sunday, Steve Holland revealed news on Eden Hazard after the winger sat out the game following a calf injury sustained against PSG.
The general opinion of Holland was that Eden Hazard would be available for selection sooner than many fans expected:
“Eden Hazard should be fit sooner rather than later, we can’t say for sure when, but a week’s break is good for us.”
The news will come as a boost to Chelsea fans and the team with vital games in the Premier League to come as well as two legs against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals.
Chelsea next play at home to Sunderland in the Premier League next Saturday before travelling to La Liga table toppers Athleti for their European crunch tie.
Chelsea fans can expect to next see Hazard in that Champions League tie, as the game against Sunderland may be a bit too soon for the Belgian, especially with bigger games to come.
Having been Chelsea’s key man for much of the season, Hazard’s availability for the last few games of the season may determine Chelsea finishing with, possibly, two trophies, or finishing the season trophyless.
