Arsene Wenger almost signed Eden Hazard

The Arsenal revealed how close he was to sign Belgium striker Eden Hazard for Arsenal.

Chelsea’s talisman, Eden Hazard, decided to sign for Chelsea in 2012 from Lille, for £32m. Eden who was elected PFA young player of the year, recently was on the verge of signing for the gunners. The International Belgium striker was subject of a mass scramble as the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspurs but it was Arsenal who have tracking him for a very long time, and Arsene Wenger revealed he invited Eden Hazard’s agent at his home, hoping Eden would agree to join Arsenal shortly before Eden hazard swooped in.

Wenger told BeIn Sports, “Yes, I wanted to take him, I had his agent at my home but again the barrier was financial and Chelsea made an effort that I couldn’t make. He can be one of the players who grows into the Messi, Ronaldo stature if he continues to develop well.”

Chelsea will travel to Cardiff this weekend to play their last game of the season. Cardiff city how now been relegated to the Championship along with Fulham FC  after failing to climb the bottom of the Premier League table. The blues aren’t expected to have an easy game especially if Cardiff City plays with their young starlet Mats Moller. The 19 years old Norwegian is one of the players, Jose Mourinho wants in his squad next year after recent reports linking him to Stamford Bridge.

The game will kick off at 3pm on Sunday.
