Costa: I’m joining a huge club at Chelsea

Diego Costa has all but confirmed that he will be a Chelsea player next season, claiming that he is joining a massive club in the Blues.

It is no secret that Chelsea are interested in the striker and look set to seal the deal after the World Cup after the Spanish international completed a medical earlier this month.

Speaking to Goal, the Brazilian-born frontman has certainly been saying the right things in order to become an instant favourite when he arrives at Stamford Bridge.

“Things are going in a direction and, if they keep going as they are going, it is the team I will play for in the next season. [The transfer] is about to happen.”

“I’ve wanted to play in the Premier League for a while”, admitted the Atlético Madrid striker.

“Chelsea are one of the greatest clubs of the world so there are many factors that make you take a decision like this.”

Costa scored 36 goals in all competitions last season as Atlético ended the dominance of Barcelona and Real Madrid in Spain and won the La Liga title.

Diego Simeone’s side also came runners up in the Champions League, losing at the final hurdle to arch-rivals Real Madrid.
