According to Spanish press, Jose Mourinho is aiming to steal the signature of Bayern Munich’s Toni Kroos from under the nose of Real Madrid.
The midfielder has reportedly rejected the chance to sign a new deal, which would extend his stay at the German champions beyond next summer.
Real Madrid have been the favourites to sign the 24-year-old either with a bid this summer or for free when he is released from his contract in Germany in a years time.
However, El Confidencial claim that Chelsea are interested in Kroos and Mournho wants to pair him up with new signing Cecs Fabregas, who signed earlier this month, in midfield.
Chelsea are reportedly ready to offer him a bumber £130,000 a week deal in an attempt to lure the German international to the Bridge.
Premier League rivals Manchester United are also reportedly interested in Kroos, but Chelsea’s ability to offer Champions League football will surely be a factor in his eventual decision.
It is believed that if Bayern Munich are to part ways with Kroos this summer, they will be seeking £20 million in return.
