Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has completed his loan move to Manchester City from new club New York City FC.

The controversial move has been on the cards for a while and has come under criticism from Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and will disappoint many Chelsea fans, but Super Frank’s legend status at the club remains.

Lampard will be avalible for both the Champions League and Premier League games as City look to retain their hold on the latter. Lampard will where number 18 at Manchester City.

Following his move, Lampard said:

Joining up with Manchester City is a fantastic opportunity for me to continue to train and play at the top level and make sure I am in top condition for New York City.

“It has been an amazing few days for me since the unveiling in Brooklyn and everyone connected with both clubs has been fantastic to me.”

“This is a new chapter of my career and I’m really excited about the experience”, Lampard added.

If earlier reports are to be believed, Frank Lampard has asked not to be included in the Manchester City squad for when they face former club Chelsea, but this is yet to be confirmed.
