Goal report that Chelsea have asked QPR to name their asking price for Loic Remy as they search for cover for the recently injured Didier Drogba.
Drogba got injured in the Blues 1-2 victory over Ferencvaros, but the victory was soured by an ankle injury to legend Didier Drogba; the severity of which is still unclear.
In the wake of this, Goal report that Chelsea have made a shock enquiry to QPR over striker Loic Remy, who recently failed a medical at Liverpool ahead of a move which never materialised.
The 27 year old was set to join Liverpool for a fee of around £8 million so, if the reports are true, we can expect the asking price to be very similar.
Remy scored 14 goals on loan at Newcastle last season and would certainly provide more than capable back up for Diego Costa and Didier Drogba, and possibly even forcing a way into a regular starting spot at the Bridge.
With Drogba set to begin the season on the sidelines, in an ideal world Chelsea would hope to have any deal for Remy tied up before they begin their Premier League campaign away to Burnley on Monday night.
However, whether it be the QPR man or someone from overseas, Drogba’s injury highlights Chelsea’s need for another striker if they are to challenge on all fronts this season.
