Chelsea youngster moves to Wolves

21 year-old midfielder George Saville has today completed a transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Championship.

The fee that takes Saville to Wolves is reported to be around £1 million.

The centre midfielder joined the Chelsea academy in 2004 and, before turning professional four years ago, helped Chelsea win the FA Youth cup in 2009/10.

Last season he was on loan at then-League One team Brentford for an initial six months, before it was extended until the end of the season.

He was an important part of the squad which gained promotion to the Championship. Saville scored 3 goals over the course of the season.

The previous season, he had a less successful loan spell at Millwall in the Championship.

Saville will now look to help Wolves as they aim to gain the second of back-to-back promotions and return to the Premier League.

Chelsea said on their official website:

Everybody at Chelsea Football Club would like to thank George for his service and wish him the best of luck for the future.
