Mourinho: We’ve improved since last season

Jose Mourinho spoke to the press today ahead of his side’s clash away to Manchester City this Sunday.

Mourinho said that his squad this season is significantly better than last season’s team, which he repeatedly stated was not good enough to win major honours.

I don’t want to compare squads but ours is better than it was last season, we have more solutions. We have a good balance.

Chelsea finished third in the league last season and were knocked out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage, so any improvement this campaign will surely result in silverware this time around.

He also spoke about the game on Sunday, and said Diego Costa would start despite not being fully fit.

“We respect City totally because they deserve it, but we believe in ourselves”, Mourinho said.

“It’s always a good time to play against big teams because it makes my job easy.”

Mourinho’s men travel to the Etihad on Sunday for what will be a good early season indication as to who is the strongest team in the league this season.
