Romano latest: Key Chelsea man could follow Madueke out of the door; Premier League clubs “keen and informed”

What took everyone by surprise in Chelsea’s first couple of years under the new ownership was the volume of players they were buying.

They bought a whole new squad, then had a busy time selling off the old squad – a job which isn’t yet complete either.

But contrary to some expectations, things aren’t slowing down now the team has been revolutionised. It’s no longer the old regime’s players who are being sold, it’s now the players the new structure bought too.

Jackson at risk after new arrivals

Noni Madueke is about to join Arsenal for £50m. Joao Felix, Axel Disasi, Renato Veiga, the list goes on. Players bought as recently as last summer and players who were first team regulars last season are all just as vulnerable.

According to Fabrizio Romano’s latest Tweet, the next to go could be Nicolas Jackson. The striker has been instantly downgraded from first to third choice by the arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, at least by the evidence of the last couple of Club World Cup games.

Romano says that Jackson “could try a new chapter elsewhere,” and notes that AC Milan have already asked about him but been warded off by his high asking price. But Premier League teams are “keen and informed” on his situation, and they have deeper pockets.

Jackson deserves better – but ruthless Chelsea ready to cash in

It would be very harsh on Jackson, who is a good player as well as a frustrating one. We’re delighted he has competition now, but we don’t want to see him forced out.

But the policy of player trading is simple, and if he really is going to miss out on game time this season, this is the moment to sell him for the maximum profit.

  1. If I am Chelsea FC I will keep Jackson this season and I will play two strikers . Jackson can play at the LW to attack and play Delap / jao upfront. Jackson can play as playmaker from the wing and help defensively by tracking back . His a dribbler and fast . Against PSG I will play….4411 /4321 . James ( RB ) – Chalobah/ Tosin ( RCB ) – Colwill ( LCB ) – Cucu ( LB ) – Enzo / caceido / Palmer ( CMs ) – Jackson ( LW ) – Neto ( RW )- jao or Delap ( ST ) .

    1. Absolutely spot on as has been said! Finals are for trophies not not for playing style.

  2. He should leave now there are a scares of strikers for a bunch of profit. He even don’t want to play for the team anymore.

  3. Probably Chelsea Don’t Need Jackson At This Stage He Need To Be Sold. And If Chelsea Want Him To Move On Quickly Then There Should Reduce To Price To £50m Because That £100m Is Too Much. Now Before I Could Go, We All Know That PSG Is The Best Team Right Now But According To Colwill And James That Even Though PSG Is The Best We Will Go Toe To Toe With Them And No Team Is Above Defeat. If I Were Maresca I Will Tell My Player Not To Be Afraid Go To That Match With One Heart And If I Were Him Also I Will Use A (4 2 3 1) Formation
Sanchez (Gk),James (RB),Colwill (CB),Tosin Or Chalobah (CB),Cucurella (LB),Enzo (DCM),Caicedo(DM),Joao pedro(LW),Palmer(AM),Neto (RW),Delap (ST) And You Will See Chelsea Defeating Them Easily Make Sure Caicedo Focus On Dembele As Well As James. Then Neto Should Be Careful With Hakimi Etc

  4. Jackson plays well from the wings. The coach should switch but he has many on the wings as well…
