Leverkusen and Napoli rejected by player who “only wants Chelsea”

GiveMeSport last night put out a Fabrizio Romano exclusive about the Chelsea deal to sign Alejandro Garnacho which is full of interesting parts.

The transfer insider is clearly being pushed by the winger’s camp to make it very clear quite how much he wants to move to Chelsea. They want it in no doubt that that’s the move he wants.

“Sources guarantee to that the agreement between the Argentinian winger and Chelsea is fully done and sealed,” he writes.

“The contract will eventually be valid until June 2032, and Garnacho sees Chelsea as the perfect opportunity to revive his career after a difficult season under Ruben Amorim. The decision on the player’s side is clear: Stamford Bridge is the only destination.”

So Garnacho wants it known that if this deal breaks down, it’s because of Man U and their demands, or Chelsea and their offer. It’s not his fault.

It would be true that he’s turned down other options though, as the piece points out. It notes that Bayer Leverkusen, managed by his old coach Erik ten Hag, and attempts from Italy including Napoli, have all been rebuffed. Garnacho “only wants Chelsea.”

£20m price gap all that remains between Chelsea and solution

Garnacho has told Man U that he only wants a move to the Blues – even if that means it all falls apart and he has to stay another year at Old Trafford as an outcast.

Clearly he’s playing all his cards at once.

This is all fluff though. The important detail is in the hard numbers – Chelsea are offering £30m and Man U want £50m or more. That’s really the sticking point here – nobody is in any doubt about the intentions and desires of all 3 parties not, it’s just a question of money.

  1. Chelsea FC apart from garnacho and Simon they should sign a experience CBs due to injuries . Fofana and badiashile are both injury prone . And the backline defensively weak they need a experience CBs to compete not only in EPL and UCL but every tournament they’re involved in . Plus two strikers isn’t enough . Maresca should play his players no matter who they play with . Even if elite team they play he should play estavio Santos and essugo and Acheampong and Anselmino that’s the part of their development and boost their confidence . Still the group of backline aren’t strong enough and they still needs a another striker . Hopefully they will sign Simon and garnacho with another solid Center back .

    1. Chelsea has Vegas so it’s of no use to buy another back line player. What Chelsea need is a very good keeper.

  2. Chelsea is in the driver’s seat here. We should draw this out until the last day of the transfer period, then we’ll see whether United are willing to lose him for nothing. He’s a luxury buy, don’t really need him. At left wing we already have Gittens, with Simon’s coming in, and we can play both Delap up front and Pedro on the left. United are lucky to be offered so much. Take the money and run.

  3. I want him to come to Chelsea since his eagerly to come maybe he may bring good impact at Chelsea since he have ambitious towards Chelsea football club….

  4. We need ganacho the season is long with allot of competition, injury can set in at anytime, so having good backups is the way..Chelsea must not sell vega is a good sign that the deal with athelitico collapsed, with Colwil injured and fofana prone to injury, we need one more experienced center back ..and a good keeper to put more pressure on sanchez..if we can get all this then we are in for so many trophies this season..what made us successful last season was because we had a big squad with quality players, just look at the 2nd team that played the conference league?

  5. I think, after signing Garnacho and Simons, the next area to strengthen is the Goal. But otherwise our squad is now balanced

  6. We really don’t need Garnacho at present. There’s a glut of players upfront and what we need is atleast one good Central defender and one standard goalkeeper. We never had any problem in the midfield and this year, hopefully the striker problem is also got solved.
